This leather, which comes from horses in the north of Spain, is one of the best leathers there is.
This leather is sourced exclusively from the foal’s two rumps. Foal leather has a high collagen content, which makes it highly resistant and provides unparalleled elasticity, resulting in one of the best leathers in existence. It has a good recovery capacity, but its best quality, in addition to its great durability, is the spectacular patina that this magnificent leather acquires over time.
This leather comes from young animals and undergoes vegetable tanning, with grease added when wet, and it is polished with a glass roller, therefore the result is a soft fine grain leather with a spectacular natural gloss; simply the best.
We use this leather to create apron straps that can be combined with the different bodies that we offer: calf skin, linen, PES with PVC fabric, rubber, and polyester dipped in PVC. The straps are created with two hand-stitched pieces of leather with waxed linen thread and saddle stitching which makes them very durable and gives them an unrivalled finish.
The straps of this leather are only created in the Classic model.
You can choose this leather in four colours: yellow, black, emerald green and red.
Vegetable tanning is the traditional tanning method. It is called vegetable because only vegetable extracts from tannin-rich plants are used. At present, only 10% of the leather produced in Spain undergoes this type of tanning, the rest is tanned with chrome, an industrial process that is more aggressive, and which results in leather that is rectified and uniform. In addition to being the most natural and respectful towards the environment, vegetable tanning is the only type that can give the leather its unique characteristics.
